Bookkeeping and Accounting for Melbourne Businesses
Reconciliations, payroll, Single Touch Payroll and month end reporting, done by a certified team rather than squeezed into your Sunday night. We are certified in Xero and MYOB and work daily in QuickBooks and Reckon, so you keep the software you already run.

Books That Tell You Something Useful
Most business owners we meet are not short of data. They are short of a file they can trust. Bank feeds have been coded to whatever the software guessed, the payroll has a leave balance nobody believes, and last year’s profit figure moved twice after the accountant touched it. We start by fixing that.
Once the file is clean, the monthly work is quick and the reporting actually means something. You see what you earned, what you owe and what is sitting in receivables, early enough to act on it. The same team then prepares the year end accounts, so nothing gets rediscovered in May by someone who has never seen your business.

How We Work
Everything runs on your existing file. We take read access first, tell you what we find, and only then agree a scope. Offices in Kew, Hoppers Crossing and the Melbourne CBD, though most bookkeeping clients deal with us entirely online.
File Review
We look at your ledger and tell you what is wrong with it, before quoting.
Clean Up
Coding, reconciliations and payroll balances brought back to something true.
Monthly Rhythm
A set cadence for reconciliations, payroll and lodgements, with reminders.
Reporting
Profit, cash and receivables in a report you can read in five minutes.

Income statements marked tax ready so staff can lodge their returns.

Expertise
Our bookkeeping team is certified in Xero and MYOB and works daily in QuickBooks and Reckon, which means migrations get handled in house rather than passed to a contractor. The accounting side is run by qualified accountants, so the person reconciling your file in October is on the same team as the person signing your accounts in May. Nothing gets explained twice.
Everything Else
Under One Roof
Clean books make everything else cheaper. Clients who use us for bookkeeping usually pay less for their tax work, because nothing has to be rebuilt first.
Bookkeeping Questions We Get Asked Most
Do I need a bookkeeper if I already have an accountant?
It depends how much of the year you want to spend coding transactions. An accountant who receives a clean file spends their time on advice rather than repair, which usually costs you less overall. At PND both sit in the same office, so you are not paying one to fix what the other missed.
Can you work in the software I already use?
Yes. We are certified in Xero and MYOB and work daily in QuickBooks and Reckon. If you are moving between them we handle the migration, including opening balances and payroll history. Nobody should have to change accounting systems just to change bookkeepers.
What has changed with super now that Payday Super has started?
From 1 July 2026 super guarantee has to reach your employee’s fund within seven business days of each payday. The old quarterly dates no longer apply. For most small employers this means the payroll process changes rather than the amounts, but the change has to actually happen, and the ATO is running a transitional approach only for the first year.
How much does bookkeeping cost each month?
It depends on transaction volume, how many staff you pay and what state the file is in. We review your ledger first, tell you what needs fixing, then quote a fixed monthly fee in writing. The clean up and the ongoing work are quoted separately so you can see what each one costs.
My books are a mess and I am behind. Is that a problem?
It is the most common way clients arrive here. We would rather see the real file than a tidied version of it. Tell us how far behind you are and we will work out what it takes to get current, in what order, and what it will cost.
